This “Starburst” commercial (1997) was filmed on a sound stage at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles.

The producers took an unusual approach to simulate underwater effects. The characters (two mermaids and a lifeguard) were wire flown in front of a blue screen, then combined with a C.G background and animated fruit slices that swam like fish.

The end result was fin-tastic!
